Adam Yates Managing Director

Having over 20 years of experience in the drylining industry, Adam has extensive knowledge of delivering high value commercial drywall projects from inception to completion.

Adam oversees all commercial elements of the business and works closely with the surveying & estimating teams

Adam is married to Helen and has 2 children, Evie & Poppy. He is a keen sportsman and partakes in a number of social sporting activities, including golf, horse-racing and snowboarding, and enjoys an active social life.

Wayne Crossland Operations Director

Starting his career as a partition installer, Wayne quickly developed into a Site Management role for northern based drylining subcontractors.

Wayne was the Senior Project Manager for Alder Hay Hospital which was a £7m package and has also worked on EWI replacement schemes to 500nr properties in Loughborough

Adam and Wayne initially met in 2004 and joined forces in July 2015 and since then Wayne has taken over the operational control of YDL and works very closely with all PM’s and client management teams

In his spare time Wayne enjoys spending time with his wife and children at their holiday lodge, getting outdoors on his mountain bike and attending social events.

Helen Yates Company Secretary

Helen worked in banking for 20 years and supported Adam with YDL on a part time basis

As YDL began to grow it became apparent that it needed more of her time so in 2015, Helen left the world of banking and began working for YDL full time

Helen loves spending time with Adam and their 2 daughters and also enjoys attending multiple sporting events such as football, cricket and horse racing. Helen loves attending the gym, travelling and skiing

Lindsay Bardwell Operations Manager

Lindsay has over 25 years’ experience in the construction industry, 18 years being in the drylining sector, beginning her career as an Estimator.

Lindsay joined YDL in 2021 as Preconstruction Manager and leads the estimating and business development functions of YDL and has progressed in recent years to having a valuable role in the day to day running of the company and offers an organised approach to key elements of the business.

Outside of work, Lindsay likes to go to the gym and walking along with spending time with family and friends.

Wendy Neave Finance Manager

Wendy started her career in finance as Honorary Treasurer for West Leeds Rugby Union club, which then lasted 21 years.

Since leaving WLRUFC, Wendy has worked in accounts/finance for a dentist, domestic appliance repairer, and then joined the Partitions & Ceilings Industry at a large subcontractor in 2007

Wendy joined Yates Drywall Ltd in 2022 as Finance Manager and controls every aspect of accounts from purchase ledger & credit control to payroll and Management accounts

Wendy enjoys holidaying & spending time with her family & friends, especially her four grandchildren who keep her on her toes.

Katy Polin Office Manager

Katy started her career in private education after completing university in 2003 and joined YDL in 2016 as Office Manager and has watched the company grow from 5nr staff to the company it is today.

Katy is responsible for day to day running of the office, subcontractor compliance & payments.

In her spare time Katy spends time with her husband & son along with family and friends.

Sophie Scaife Buyer

Sophie has spent 18 years in the construction industry, from merchant sales, distribution sales then sub-contractor buying and has extensive experience in insulation sales & dry-lining.

Day to day responsibilities include procurement of all materials used on all YDL sites and liaising daily with all Project Managers and clients to ensure that each site is serviced with adequate materials to keep our sites runs smoothly

Sophie loves to travel, eat delicious food from all over the world and enjoys spending the weekend with her family and friends.

Elliott Count Manager / QS

Elliott joined in 2015 straight from university at 22, as graduate manager. In the time since joining, Elliott has taken on many roles as demanded of an ever-growing business such as Estimating, Quantity Surveying and Management.

Being very technically minded, Elliott often gives advice to Estimators, Project Managers and clients in regards to best practice fixing details.

In his spare time Elliott likes to spend time with his wife and son and also attends sporting events such as watching Barnsley FC and attending Cricket and playing golf.

Nick Skill Commercial Manager

Having worked in the drylining industry for over 35 years Nick brings with him a wealth of experience. Nick predominantly worked in estimating but has spent the last 5 years working in the commercial department.

One of Nicks key skills is building up strong relationships with site teams helping to secure regular repeat business.

Outside of work Nick enjoys spending time in the gym and watching Leeds Utd FC

Tom Beresford Estimator

Tom has 10 years’ experience as a drywall Estimator tendering projects across England on packages such as SFS, Load Bearing SFS, Partitions, Ceilings, Render and Screeding. Tom has extensive knowledge in various sectors, including commercial, residential, education, health care and transport and has won iconic projects such as Manchester Airport T2 building

Tom joined YDL in 2021 and is responsible for analysing tender drawings and details, measurement, pricing and negotiating final costs to secure work and turnover. Attending design workshops with main contractors and clients to provide specialist package knowledge on the best methods of construction and value engineering options to keep within budgets.

In his spare time, Tom is a long-suffering Sheffield Wednesday fan having attended games since he was 6 and has held a season ticket since he was 15.

Dave Schorah Contracts Manager

Dave started his career in the construction industry 30 years ago as a ceiling & partition fixer and quickly progressed to site manager and is now Contracts Manager at YDL

With Dave having extensive knowledge from his time ‘on the tools’, this makes him perfect for the role of Contracts Manager, controlling all small works projects (<£250k)

Dave likes to spend his spare time eating good food with his wife Catherine and also likes to spend time at junior football with his son Harry and dog Monty. He is also an avid Leeds United FC Supporter

Joe Gorner Senior Project Manager

Working for the DWP as an admin assistant was where Joe started his career. Within 3 years he had moved into the role of regional employment consultant, progressing to regional skills broker in the private skills sector

In 2020 Joe decided to restart his career by moving into the Construction Industry and quickly became an Assistant Project Manager. In 2021 Joe was promoted to Project Manager and was given his own sites to manage. Joe has gone on to manage some of our larger projects such as NOMA, Manchester

Joe is a family orientated man with a fiancé and a little girl, he has a passion for sports especially football, golf & skiing.

Simon Oliver Senior Project Manager

Beginning his career in construction in 1996, Simon worked as a site manager and dry-liner for various sized commercial companies in the UK, 15 years of this was spent in London working on large commercial and residential projects.

Simon joined YDL in 2020 as Senior Project Manager and manages projects up to £4m in and around Yorkshire

In his spare time, Simon enjoys rock climbing, running, getting out on his Gravel bike and helping out with the coaching for his daughter’s football team.

Kirsty Nicholson Project Manager

Kirsty started in the construction industry in 2018 as trainee Site Manager and has worked on projects such as schools, leisure centres, office blocks, student apartments & hospital wing refurbishments and joined the team as Project Manager in Jan 2023.

All Kirsty’s spare time at the moment is taken up with refurbishing her house but away from that Kirsty enjoys a Rum with friends.

Dave Goose Project Manager

Dave began life in the drylining industry as a plasterer in 2004 and then went on to be a working supervisor.

Dave was promoted to a Project Manager in 2019 and joined YDL full time in 2023

In his spare time, Dave likes to spend time in his camper van and also likes to attend rock concerts.

Andy Walton Project Manager

Andy has been in construction for 35 years, starting as an apprentice. In a 6-year break from the industry, Andy served in the Royal Marines all around the world before returning to life in construction in 1993

Having worked in general building, joinery, shopfitting and drylining, Andy moved into site management in 2011.

Andy joined YDL in 2024 as Project Manager to manage our site in Harrogate.

Nicholas Cox Project Manager

Nick has 35yrs experience in the construction industry, 15 of which was on the tools.

Previous projects worked on include: Malmaison Hotel Birmingham, MCJC law courts Manchester, CO-OP head office Manchester, Etihad Campus, various schools, universities and student accommodation schemes throughout the country. Nick also spent 3 years on the Sellafield project.

Nick initially joined YDL in 2022 to work on our Heart of The City project in Sheffield City Centre

As a devout Manchester united fan, Nick enjoys watching them in his spare time and has a wife of 28yrs and they are proud parents of 2 children.

Jack Bardwell Trainee Quantity Surveyor

Jack joined YDL in 2023 as Trainee Quantity Surveyor working closely with Elliott & Nick on all live projects.

Outside of work, Jack loves to go to the gym and watches Sheffield Wednesday FC whenever he can.
